A breakthrough on price for a 720p home theatre projector, the SANYO PLV-Z60 home theatre projector features super-bright 1200 ANSI lumens and impressive 10000:1 contrast ratio with 12-bit digital processing. Incorporating a 3D colour management system, the PLV-Z60 includes two HDMI inputs, a versatile lens shifting system and a near-silent fan. Available in October, Manufacturer’s List Price (MSLP) is $1,350.
The first portable projectors to feature active maintenance filter systems (AMF), the SANYO PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50 are extremely portable and small enough for ceiling mounting. Both are equipped with a high output 7 Watt speaker and with security bar and PIN locking systems, and are ideally suited for the education market. The AMF system is a unique filtration system with a filter cartridge that last 3000 hours. These LCD portable projectors sport 3100 lumens (PLC-XC55) and 2600 lumens (PLC-XC50). Weighing in at 8.82 pounds (3.96 kilograms), MSLP is $1,999 and $1,660 respectively.
The SANYO PLV-Z700 is a full 1080p HD home theatre projector with a versatile lens-shifting system allowing the projector to be placed almost anywhere. The new variable iris adjusts automatically to optimum light levels every 1/60th of a second, and this projector features a rich 3D colour management system and two HDMI inputs. Designed for residential installations, this 3LCD panel projector offers 1920 X 1080 resolution and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. Available in October, MSLP is $2,200.
The first Sanyo projector to benefit from its new Quadrive ™ technology to improve brightness and colour accuracy, the portable SANYO PLC-XP200L offers 7000 lumens and a 2200:1 contrast ratio. The new optical engine, Quadrive, adds a colour control device to the conventional 3LCD systems. The colour control device increases the level of colour purity by about 20 per cent compared with previous models. This unit also boasts the AMF system and offers various optional lenses and the PJ Network Organizer for networking functions. Weighing in at 25.1 pounds (11.3 kilograms), the PLC-XP200L will begin shipping in October with an MSLP of $9,999.
The SANYO CE52SR1 is the company’s first 52 inch sunlight-readable outdoor High Definition LCD waterproof monitor that is ideal for outdoor applications such as advertising and displays. It sports anti-reflective and tamper-proof glass, with a brightness of more than 1000 cd/m2 (candela per meter squared) and a frame constructed from marine grade anodized aluminum for long-lasting performance under adverse conditions. It offers full 1920 X 1080 HD resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and has an Ingress Protection (IP-66) rating against dust and liquids. Available in October, the MSLP is $16,490.
In late October, the ultra-short throw SANYO PLC-XL51 LCD projector will be released, the world’s shortest projection distance projector, which features a proprietary optical engine allowing the projection of images up to 80-inches (203.2 centimetres) from a distance of about three-inches (7.6 centimetres). Ideal for classroom, conference room and advertising applications, it offers 2700 lumens and a 600:1 contrast ratio. This unit also has a built-in networking capability. MSLP will be $3,700.
In December, Sanyo will introduce a new ultra-high contrast, 120HZ full HD 1080p LCD Front projector. The SANYO PLV-Z3000 features a 65000:1 contrast ratio with 1200 ANSI Lumens. It is the industry’s first to introduce a 5:5 pull down, for the most frame accurate delivery of all source material. Replacing the popular PLV-Z2000, this unit offers Sanyo’s proprietary TopazReal HD technology, which includes 14-bit digital processing and the real-focus HD lens system. Complete with an advanced lens shifting function and a quiet fan system, the PLV-Z3000 has short throw capability and 2X zoom, creating a large screen image in almost any sized room from virtually any location.
